This week, on “Cutting It: In the ATL”, served as a great teaser for next week’s episode where a big revelation will take place. But, in the meantime, here’s a breakdown of all the highlights from Episode 7. Will newly formed business partnerships survive?

“The Takedown” – Episode 7 (air date 7.2.15)

Episode Highlights

  • Dedra visits Maja in an attempt to reconnect; but, the visit goes all wrong for Dedra. Maja ends up, very politely, asking Dedra to leave. Yikes!
  • Beautii is all about expanding the Spoiled Opulence brand and growing her business. She visits Atlanta radio station 94.5 to discuss her salon and entrepreneurial endeavors. She also takes professional photos for a new salon banner. Maja and Lakenya see the banner and think it looks strikingly similar to Maja’s marketing materials for Pretty Hair.
  • Beautii decides to invest in Pretty Hair and gives Maja a sizeable check! Maja is initially hesitant to cash the check because she’s not sure if she can completely trust Beautii. But, in the end, the “coinage” wins out. It will be interesting to see how their new business relationship pans out.
  • Maja and Mushiya take a pole dancing class together. Is there anything Mushiya can’t do? I swear she’s a jack of all trades – lol. So, of course, Mushiya is a natural and picks up quickly but Maja – not so much lol. During the class, Maja reveals to Mushiya that she wants to be a mom and is exploring options for becoming a single mother. Mushiya is totally against the idea and tries to convince Maja to change her mind.
  • Beautii and Maja meet to shop for a luxury rental car for Maja’s upcoming birthday celebration. Maja shares her dreams of being a mother with Beautii as well, thinking Beautii might be more empathetic as a single mom. Beautii shares her experiences and tries to encourage Maja to reconsider.
  • Dedra meets with Tre, another stylist, to learn how to sew in a weave. She wants to improve her techniques and expand her service offerings. Will she be able to compete with the other ladies?
  • Maja brings Lakenya along to visit the factory where her Pretty Hair products are made. Lakenya appreciates Maja’s advise and mentorship. She realizes now, more than ever, that it’s time to distance herself from Dedra.
  • Mushiya is ready to introduce her own hair extension line called “Runway Curls”, for natural hair. She says it’s going to change the game and revolutionize the hair industry. Will the other ladies decide to invest?
  • Dedra, still off-centered from her conversation Maja, decides to research Maja on the internet. The episode ends with an unflattering picture of Maja being shown on Dedra’s iPad. Again, I ask – Why can’t we all just get along?
